Patrick Duemmler studied at the University of Zurich and graduated with a master's degree in economics. During his studies, he already worked for IBM and as an assistant at the Socioeconomic Institute of the University of Zurich. During this time, Patrick Duemmler was responsible as co-author for the standard reference work "Volkswirtschaft der Schweiz" ('The Economy of Switzerland'). After completing his master's degree, he spent some years as an assistant at ETH Zurich, where he wrote a large number of publications and his doctoral thesis on the Swiss medical technology sector and graduated as Dr. sc. ETH Zurich. Since 2006, Patrick Duemmler has worked as a business consultant with a focus on the life sciences sector, with Roland Berger Strategy Consultants as one of his employers. Since then he has also been co-author of the "Swiss Medical Technology Industry (SMTI) Report" published every other year. Since November 2015 Patrick Dümmler has been a Senior Fellow and Trade Policy Research Director at Avenir Suisse. Patrick Duemmler has supported us since 2015 with his experience and network as a knowledge partner for the life sciences sector, in particular medical technology and pharmaceuticals.
